About this Edition
The 22nd edition of Demo Forest 2023 took place in Libramont, Belgium, from August 1 to 2, 2023. This premier event for the Forestry and Wood sector in Western Europe was hosted at the Libramont Exhibition & Conference from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm.
Spanning nearly 120 hectares, the exhibition space welcomed a diverse group of earth scientists, advisors, forest managers, horticulturists, entrepreneurs, and other industry experts. Demo Forest 2023 served as a pivotal platform for addressing questions, sharing innovative solutions, and fostering sustainable practices in agriculture, forestry, and environmental stewardship.
Throughout the show, four major industry issues were communicated: the multifunctional roles of forests, adapting silviculture to global changes, local wood transformation and consumption, and public awareness. The event featured live demonstrations, on-site training sessions, educational workshops, and two conference debates.
Adding to the event's interactive nature, Demo Forest 2023 hosted two international competitions: the International Competition of the European Draft Horse Committee and the Belgian Championship for Tree Climbers in pairs. These competitions, alongside various supporting events, engaged both children and adults in the forestry conversation.
