About this Edition
The 17th edition of jazzahead! 2023 took place from 27 to 30 April at Messe Bremen, Germany. This significant trade fair for jazz opened its doors at 10:00 am on 27 April, with the official opening ceremony commencing at 1:00 pm.
Throughout the show, jazzahead! 2023 served as a hub for jazz enthusiasts, offering a platform for musicians, labels, agencies, festival organisers, and media to network and collaborate. Under the theme of "Building Bridges", participants engaged in lectures, discussions, and workshops. They also enjoyed special live performances and explored themed areas such as the "Work & Meet - Crossover".
Germany, the partner country for the event, showcased its jazz scene through the German Jazz Expo. In addition, the Showcases event highlighted performances by both famous and emerging artists across various stages. During the event, the conference programme tackled topics such as sustainability in the live events industry, diversity and inclusion, and the digitalisation challenges in the music marketplace. The annual GALA CONCERT marked the culmination of the event's schedule.
