The 36th edition of the Congress of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, also known as ESCMID Global, took place from 17 to 21 April 2026 at Messe Munich in Germany. This annual summit attracted over 16,000 professionals eager to engage in a high-caliber educational and networking programme focused on the advancements in clinical microbiology.

ESCMID Global 2026 offered a wealth of educational content, featuring over 5,100 scientific abstracts, more than 3,700 posters, and numerous discussions and workshops. The agenda encompassed various fields within infectious diseases and clinical microbiology, divided into the following categories:

• Scientific Programme, which included congress and keynote sessions, scientific discussions, and training for certificates and accreditation;
• Industry Programme, highlighting the Innovation and Pipeline Theatre Programme, Integrated Symposia Programme, and Integrated Workshops;
• Congress Programme, featuring the final agenda, activities from both the Industry and Scientific Programme, and the AMR Science-Policy Forum.
