Leipziger Messe turned into a vibrant hub as the Leipzig Book Fair, Manga-Comic-Con, and Leipzig liest 2026 editions took place simultaneously from 19 to 22 March. The Leipzig Book Fair, known as Leipziger Buchmesse or LBM, celebrated its 80th edition, welcoming thousands of trade visitors, professionals, and the general public.

LBM 2026 gathered readers, authors, publishers, booksellers, librarians, teachers, and media representatives from over 40 countries. Attendees had the opportunity to meet face-to-face, collaborate, network, and explore recent trends shaping the industry and the upcoming book year. The fair showcased a diverse product world, highlighting areas such as Book Art & Graphics, Art Schools, Digital World: Audio, Film & Media, Fiction and Non-Fiction, International, Kids, Young Adults & Education, Manga-Comic-Con, Music, Newspapers and Magazines, Non-Book, Textbooks, Science, Travel, autoren@leipzig, Art Books.

One of the notable features of the expo was the traditional Country Guest of Honour, which spotlighted a different country each year, enhancing visibility for its culture, literature, and language. Previous guests included Norway, Austria, Portugal, Romania, Czech Republic, among others.
